The decision considers cases of thick skin and excess fat.
Major swelling subsides in about a week, and residual swelling and bruising gradually improve over 2–4 weeks.
The first 2–3 days after surgery are when swelling and bruising are most likely.
During this period, it is best to apply a cold compress wrapped in a towel 3–4 times a day for about 10–15 minutes.
Be careful not to get water in your eyes until the sutures are removed.
Light makeup is possible after suture removal, but eye makeup such as eyeliner or mascara is safest after at least 10 days.
Wearing contact lenses before the wound has healed carries a risk of bacterial infection, so we recommend waiting at least 2–3 weeks.
