Botox is an injection treatment using botulinum toxin
that works by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter,
to paralyze muscle movement. This softens expression lines
and reduces overdeveloped muscles. -
The level of pain felt during Botox treatment varies from person to person,
and is generally known to be similar to the prick of an injection.
However, pain may vary depending on the treatment area and drug concentration,
and it can be reduced by applying numbing cream before treatment
or cooling the area with an ice pack. -
The effect may not be clearly visible right after treatment,
but it generally begins to appear gradually after 7–14 days.
The effect lasts for about 4–6 months after treatment.
